PublishDrive is a self-publishing platform for authors and publishers, offering tools for distributing ebooks, audiobooks, and print-on-demand books globally. While it doesn't directly match Medium's focus on articles and community engagement, it provides core publishing functionalities. It offers an 'eBook Converter' which implies a rich text editor for preparing manuscripts, a subscription model for authors to keep 100% royalties (membership monetization), and sales analytics for tracking performance (reader engagement metrics). It also has 'Publisher solutions' and 'Imprint Management' which align with publication management. The platform uses metadata and keywords for discoverability, which is similar to tags and topics and search and discovery. However, it lacks direct community feedback tools like claps or highlights, and its 'recommendation engine' is more about distribution to stores rather than an algorithmic feed for readers within its own platform.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.
Check it out at our site.
Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
