Notion Sites allows users to publish content online, similar to a publishing platform. It offers a rich text editor (Notion's drag-and-drop building blocks), supports user profiles (though not explicitly called 'following,' users can create personal sites), and has search and discovery features (SEO, search bar). It also has mobile app access and social sharing capabilities. However, it lacks explicit features for a recommendation engine, membership monetization, reader engagement metrics, or community feedback tools in the same way Medium does. While Notion has AI features that can assist with writing, it's not a core 'distribution & recommendation engine' for published content in the same vein as Medium's algorithmic feed. The monetization is for Notion's service, not for writers earning revenue based on reader engagement on their published content.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.
Check it out at our site.
Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
