News Explorer is a strong match for the URList concept. It allows users to save URLs (RSS, Atom, JSON, Reddit, Mastodon, YouTube, Podcast feeds) and provides previews of articles. It organizes these feeds into folders (lists and sections) and supports sharing articles. The interface is described as streamlined and easy, aligning with a minimalist approach. It also supports various media types within articles and requires an Apple ID for iCloud sync, which acts as a form of sign-in/authentication. While it doesn't explicitly mention 'Tufte-style side notes,' it does have 'Article notes' which serve a similar contextual purpose. The public sharing is for individual articles rather than entire curated lists, which is a slight deviation but still aligns with the spirit of sharing content.

I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
