Listy is a strong match for the URList concept. It allows users to save various types of content, including links, and organize them into lists and categories. It explicitly mentions public sharing of lists, saving content from anywhere (instant link adding), and a focus on a clean interface. While it doesn't explicitly mention 'Tufte-style side notes,' it does allow for adding notes to items. The app also supports rich media previews for different content types and offers sign-in/authentication for backup and sync features, along with mobile responsiveness.

I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
