Flightdeck is described as an API-first developer platform built on Backstage, focusing on streamlining development and managing software components, documentation, API specifications, and integrations. While it is a developer platform, it does not explicitly offer a drag-and-drop UI builder or direct code customization within the platform for building internal tools in the same way Retool does. It focuses more on providing a centralized hub for existing development practices and tools. However, it does mention API integrations, access control (Role-Based Access Control), and flexible deployment options (SaaS or on-premises).
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
