ExpressionEngine is a Content Management System (CMS) that allows users to publish and manage content on websites. It explicitly mentions a 'Rich Text Editing' feature, which aligns with the 'rich-text-editor'. The platform also supports 'Forums' and 'Comments', which are forms of 'community-feedback-tools'. The 'Channels' feature allows for organizing content, similar to 'publication-management'. 'User Management' and 'Member Roles' indicate support for 'user-profiles-and-following'. The 'Categories' feature directly corresponds to 'tags-and-topics'. While not explicitly stated as 'social sharing', the nature of a CMS implies the ability to share content, and the 'Add-Ons' section lists 'Social' as a category, suggesting 'social-sharing-and-embedding' is possible. The 'Search' module and 'Search Term Log' confirm 'search-and-discovery'. However, ExpressionEngine is a CMS for building websites, not specifically a platform for writers to monetize content through a membership model like Medium, nor does it have an inherent recommendation engine for content distribution.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
