Hygraph is a headless CMS, which means it provides the backend for content management but does not inherently include the frontend publishing or monetization aspects of a platform like Medium. While it offers a rich text editor, content management, and API capabilities for distribution, it lacks the built-in recommendation engine, membership monetization, and direct reader engagement metrics that are core to Medium's value proposition. It's a tool for building content platforms, not a content platform itself.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
