GitHub Discussions is primarily a collaboration tool for developers, not a general online publishing platform for writers. While it offers some features that overlap with content platforms, such as threaded comments and user profiles, its core purpose is to facilitate discussions around code and projects, not to enable long-form article creation or monetization for writers. It lacks a rich text editor for general content, a distribution/recommendation engine for diverse content, and monetization features for writers.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
