Goodreads is primarily a social cataloging website for books, not a content publishing platform for writers in the same vein as Medium. While it allows users to create profiles, tag books, and search for content, it lacks the core features of a rich text editor for long-form articles, a distribution and recommendation engine for original written content, and monetization models for writers based on their published stories. The 'user blogs' aspect is very minor and not a central feature of the platform as described by the website content.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
