Publii is a desktop-based static CMS that allows users to create and manage websites, including blogs and portfolios. It offers a rich text editor for content creation, supports user profiles (authors), uses tags for categorization, and includes social sharing features. While it facilitates content publishing, it lacks the direct monetization model (membership/subscription) and a built-in algorithmic recommendation engine that are central to the 'Medium' concept. It's more of a website builder for static sites rather than a platform for content distribution and monetization for writers in the same vein as Medium.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
