Quill is explicitly described as a "powerful rich text editor" and a "free, open source WYSIWYG editor built for the modern web." Its documentation and examples heavily feature text formatting, image embedding, and custom styling capabilities, directly aligning with the 'rich-text-editor' feature. However, it is a component for developers to build with, not a complete publishing platform with distribution, monetization, or community features.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
