Writer Journal is an offline writing app that provides a WYSIWYG editor with various formatting options, which aligns with the 'rich-text-editor' feature. It also offers 'reader-engagement-metrics' through its real-time text analysis tools (word counter, character counter, lexical diversity, etc.) that help writers improve their content. The app includes a 'tagging system' for organization, matching 'tags-and-topics'. While not explicitly 'user-profiles-and-following' in the sense of a social platform, it allows users to manage their own work and track growth, which is a form of personal profile. It is a 'mobile-app-access' as it is an Android application. However, it lacks features related to content distribution, recommendation engines, or monetization models for readers, which are core to the 'Medium' concept.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
