Audiobooks.com is an audiobook platform, not a content publishing platform for writers. While it offers a membership model, personalized recommendations, and community features, it lacks the core 'rich text editor' and 'reader engagement metrics' for writers to publish and track their own long-form articles, which are must-have features for the 'Medium' concept. It does, however, have features related to content distribution, monetization, and user engagement, but for audiobooks rather than written articles.
I've been using Alternative A for 6 months now and it's been fantastic. The pricing is much better and the features are actually more robust than what [Product] offers.
It handles edge cases much better and the API
is actually documented properly.

Honestly, after trying both, Competitor B wins hands down. Better customer support, cleaner interface, and they don't nickel and dime you for every feature.
